GVK Power & Infrastructure Ltd has posted a loss of Rs 45.43 crore for the third quarter ended December 31, 2013 against a loss of Rs 57 crore in the corresponding peroid last year.
The diversified Hyderbad-based infrastructure company, however,posted higher income of Rs 735.09 crore for the December quarter this fiscal against Rs648.68 crore in the same peroid last fiscal.
While the airports and roads divisions boosted the company's numbers with robust performance, the power sector dragged down its numbers.
The airports division performed particularly well logging revenues of Rs568.21 crore for the third quarter versus Rs 347.38 crore in the same peroid last year. The roads sector contributed Rs 69.22 crore versus Rs 64.21 crore.
The power sector output and turnover was impacted due to lack of fuel supply in its gas-based plants located in Andhra Pradesh. Revenues from power division showed a steep fall of Rs 97.66 crore during the third quarter versus Rs 237.09 crore in the same peroid last year.
For the nine-month peroid ended December 31, 2013, the company closed with revenues of Rs 2,126.52 crore and a loss of Rs 132.32 crore against revenues of Rs 2,107.58 crore and a loss of Rs 164.96 crore.
The company shares were trading at Rs 9.16, up 1 per cent, on BSE during the day.
